Jackson Beck, who opened
the radio program Superman with a variation on that quote, has died at the age of 92. Although
most closely tied with Superman, having provided the voices for villains on the
radio program in addition to later voicing his boss Perry White and archenemy
Lex Luthor on the 1960s cartoons, Beck also voiced Bluto in more than 300
cartoons and narrated G.I. Joe cartoons in the 1980s. Commercial roles have
included Aqua Fresh, Combat roach killer, and the voice of Caesar Jr. in the
Little Caesar commercials.
