Edward Starr, huh, good god, what is he good for?

Absolutely nothing, since no one had him in the pool. For those who hadn't heard, Edward Starr, former Motown great, died yesterday of a heart attack at his home in England.

For those scoring at home, which at this point is practically no one, it's been 2 months and 14 days since the pool added a swimmer, or should I say drowner? But take heart, April brings several pool birthdays:

Buddy Ebsen, April 2 - 90-freaking-5
Harry Morgan, April 10 - 88
Oleg Cassini, April 11 - 90

Perhaps the exertion of blowing out that many candles will get the ball rolling again. Some statisticians have reported trends of folks who start pining for the fjords soon after a major holiday or birthday(1). And yes I really am a big enough dork to send an e-mail with a literary citation.
