Cam Shafted
Ken Caminiti, the former San Diego Padre,
Houston Astro, Texas Ranger and Atlanta Brave who ‘roided his way to the 1996
National League MVP, died of a heart attack at 41. From his first series in the
majors against the Phillies when he led the Astros to a sweep while smacking
line drives all over the yard, Caminiti blended a unique combination of defense
and power. Off the field, he was less controlled, and in addition to the
steroids, Caminiti had troubles with alcohol and cocaine.
